Jeauti Bala Barman, a member Ashirbad Self-Help Group and a resident of Boalkamari village in Kokrajhar District, Assam. She has been rearing goats for many years using traditional methods. When she heard about a training program on scientific goat rearing, she was unsure at first, but I decided to attend with the hope of learning something new.
The training opened my eyes to better ways of feeding, disease prevention, and shed construction. She learned to use local resources efficiently and built a scientifically designed goat shed. After applying these methods, the health of my goats has improved, mortality has reduced, and productivity has increased. She acknowledges the progress she made and grateful for the knowledge that changed the approach.
